Dictionary.com defines Trust as the reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc., of a person or thing; confidence;confident expectation of something; hope. In life trust is an important factor of all relationships….you need to trust your bank to not lose your money, trust your friends to not betray a confidence; trust your partner to be there through any challenge…trust is a word that is tossed around alot, but do we fully understand it’s meaning and the context that we put it in. Confident expectation of something;hope. Sometimes we question what is happening in our lives…why me? why this? when will it happen? when will I meet the person of my dreams? when will I get that promotion? why did my Dad get cancer? When we get past all of the questions, all of the frustration, anger, sadness, all of the emotions that come with the questions, then we will see these events in our lives as stepping stones to the next level in our lives. But when you are in the middle of those questions and emotions, it is really hard to look out and see the light. We have to trust that we are in the right place at exactly the right time and trust that everything is happening exactly as it should. In Yoga, there is emphasis on the breath in a pose; Inhale and lift your arms above your head; exhale fold forward into Uttanasana…in life we trust that the breath will always be there, even when we don’t think about it…it’s natural. But when you take that concious breath, it brings you into the present, into that specific moment. Just like that breath, we need to be concious in each moment of how precious life is, and that by taking a moment to breathe, we can meet any challenge with confidence and hope. There are things that will suck in our lives, moments that we wish didn’t happen, corners that we wish we didn’t turn, but those moments and those corners get you to where you are meant to be. Trust that your life is playing out exactly as it is meant to. Trust that maybe that next corner you turn brings you to a person or place that can provide answers to some of your questions. There will be times that you will get caught up in the mundane or the details….if that happens, pause, breathe and observe and trust that you will either be given the wings to fly or the support that is needed to get you through whatever you are going through.
With lots of love and light and heaps of trust
